General Installation Steps:
Ensure you can access pop.gmail.com on 995 using "telnet pop.gmail.com 995" If you dont get an error things are fine. If connection attempt fails you cannot use Poperti in your present network, contact your administrator for more details.
Ensure you have the latest Java 1.5.x installed and configured in the path.
Trial Version Usage Steps: Trial version lets you check out the software and helps you decide if it is right for you.
Go here to get the Trial version downloadable of Poperti.
Read the Terms and Conditions. Click on the Trial version section button to reveal the download link. Download and unzip to local directory.
Before using Poperti please go to gmail - settings - Forwarding and POP - POP Download - (select)Enable POP for all mail
Use the batch/script file to run Poperti. Poperti prompts you for the gmail id print the gmail id(WITHOUT "@gmail.com") you would like to configure Poperti on.
Click the OK button with a "green tick".
Poperti will prompt you for the password for that email account. Print password and click OK("green tick" icon)
If everything is fine so far. Poperti displays the player console. Click on the Play list icon. Poperti displays all the music uploaded by Poperti.
Click on the Play button or on any song on the playlist.
You can upload legal mp3 files to your account by dragging the mp3's file/s or folder of mp3's on to the header of the playlist.
After uploading new music files, please go to gmail - settings - Forwarding and POP - POP Download - (select)Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded). This step is required everytime after uploading new music files.
Due to bugs in the app you will need to restart Poperti after uploading files to be able to play them. We will fix it very soon.
You have to restart the app after playing 4-5 songs continuously. This is because this is the trial version.
Print your email address to which you want the personal key to be sent. Example: John.Doe@gmail.com
Print the gmail email address you want Poperti to recognise as your music repository. Example John.Doe.Music@gmail.com
Click on the Licensed Key section button to send key. Please make your payment thru Paypal. Check your email specified in step 17 to get the key. Copy the key.
Setup gmail pop service if you have not set up already. Please go to gmail - settings - Forwarding and POP - POP Download - (select)Enable POP for all mail
Poperti should prompt you for the key.
Paste the key you copied in step 19.
Enter your password for the gmail account you mentioned in step 18.
Follow steps 9-13.
NOTE:
Only mp3's uploaded using Poperti will be visible in the playlist. The mp3's that were in your mails not created by Poperti will not be recognised.
Poperti will not recognise the music file that is in an email that is forwarded by another Poperti user.
Gmail has only 2 POP settings 1. To enable POP download for all mails (Does not enable POP download on new mails), 2. Enable POP download for all mails from now on (Mails that were recieved previous to enabling POP will not be downloadable.). For any other clarification/Feedback use the Feedback Section
